You see, creativity and generosity are in my DNAโ€”I'm the granddaughter of a printer, docent, grant writer and welder. I am also the daughter of ministers and a special needs teacher. So trust me when I say, giving and creating aren't just what I do, they're who I am!

OWNER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR + DIGITAL STRATEGIST

I'm the driving force behind The Charity Design, wearing multiple hats to bring ideas to life: Creative Director, Designer, Web Designer, Digital Strategist, and Donor Manager. With a passion for design and a belief in its ability to inspire change, Iโ€™ve dedicated my career to helping nonprofits create meaningful visual stories that connect with their audiences. See more of my story here.

When I step away from my computer atop a handpainted desk that I LOVE, you'll often find me lost in a good bookโ€”I'm a total bookworm! Plus, as a military wife and mom, I've mastered the art of adaptability, resilience, and juggling roles like a pro. These real-life experiences have shaped my work approach, infusing my designs with a hefty dose of reality and empathy. Whether I'm strategizing a digital blitz or meticulously designing a website, my aim never wavers: to whip up designs that captivate, engage, and prompt action! Because at the end of the day, it's all about making a difference, right? Now, let's get started on creating something extraordinary together!

Meet Sarah

SENIOR DESIGN + MARKETING MANAGER

Hi! Iโ€™m Sarah, a graphic designer, web designer, illustrator, and social media manager. I have a background in non-profit communications, and have always loved being able to harness my creative skills to advance equity, sustainability, and inclusivity. I have a degree in Environmental Studies from Virginia Wesleyan University and a Graduate Certification in Graphic and Digital Design from the Parsons School of Design.

It is a dream to design for organizations who are doing so much good for the world. My past experiences spearheading reforestation efforts, performing communications for childrenโ€™s charities, and managing marketing campaigns for environmental non-profits have all informed my work and allowed me to make an impact in the areas Iโ€™m passionate about.

Iโ€™m so excited to be joining the Charity Design Co Team and helping non-profits like you build their digital landscape- it is an honor to be a part of telling your story through visual design and marketing!

Meet Kay

WEB DESIGNER

I'm a versatile graphic, web, and UX designer with a passion for details and the โ€œwhyโ€ behind each one of them. As a proudly queer and disabled designer, my work is naturally rooted in accessibility, empathy, and community, reflecting the values I live by every day.

I believe thoughtful design is a way I can make the world a better place, so nonprofit clients have a special place in my heart. Over many years of freelance and agency experience, I have collaborated with nonprofit organizations to support causes like reproductive rights, housing access, disability justice, abolition, and even cat adoption.

In my free time, Iโ€™m usually cooking up risograph magic in the print collective studio, organizing art markets with my bestie, or watching questionable horror movies.

Meet Sasha

DESIGN + STRATEGY SPECIALIST

I'm a design strategist specializing in branding and web design for mission-driven organizations. With a foundation in Communication Design and a graduate degree in Social Design, I bring a thoughtful, research-driven approach to creating user-centered experiences that align purpose with impact.

Over the years, Iโ€™ve collaborated with product teams working toward food system resilience. I helped design a learning platform for low-literacy farmers in India, developed visual design systems for early-stage agricultural software, and co-created interactive tools like an agrobiodiversity assessment and a supply-chain dashboard with food system experts. Across these projects, my goal has always been the same: to translate complexity into clarity through design.

Outside of work, youโ€™ll find me practicing yoga, volunteering as a wildlife rehabilitator, or relaxing with my husband, two cats, snake, and a small flock of backyard chickens.
