MY STORY…
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED
I started off in an entry-level position at an art museum. It was my dream job, or so it seemed! Just a few months in, they needed an image background removed for an HR poster. I jumped at the chance, grabbed Photoshop, and dove right in! Before I knew it, I was shouldering the work of the contracted design agency. Soon, I was the go-to person for all Member Previews and Special Event invitations. Talk about a quick learning curve!
Fast forward to 2010, I swapped the art museum for motherhood with the arrival of our first daughter. But, oh boy, did I miss the creative buzz! I tried a few things, even launching a baby concierge service (we still chuckle when we get junk mail for that one). But, guess what? Something BIG was around the corner.
In 2012, our second bundle of joy, our little peanut, arrived. Between leaving the museum and her birth, I was still dipping my toes into print and web projects. The jobs were sporadic, but when peanut came along, everything clicked! I loved the thrill of crafting graphics, and with referrals coming in thick and fast, I knew it was time to get serious. I set up packages, services, prices, and a plan. And just like that, Calliope was born!
Fast forward again to 2021, I operated under the alias of Calliope. After the birth of our son in 2014, I began receiving offers to own parts of startups! My clientele varied, and I learned so much from each project. Interestingly, more and more non-profits started reaching out. Helping them felt incredible, like I found my true calling, beyond family life.
The Charity Design Co is here because I strive to help charities change the world.
